Dana Escobar has always been passionate about animals. She
grew up with more than 14 dogs at one time in her home, several of which
she enjoyed working with and training even as a youngster. While she
has always been drawn to all animals, her heart has always been with
dogs.
In 2011, Dana decided to take that passion and
fuel it into something more. She enrolled in Animal Behavior College
and graduated April 2012. Since then, she has dedicated her time to
learning as much as she can to provide her experience and expertise to
her clients. In September 2012, she joined the Tails-U-Win Staff as a
Day Care attendant and then in November 2012, she stepped up to become
the manager of their Dog Day Camp.
She learned even
more about dog behavior and canine communication. In February of 2014, she
jumped into her role as Office Staff, and assisted with the Day Schoolat Tails-U-Win! as frequently as time would allow.Since August 2012,
she has assisted in many training classes, dedicated hours and hours to
learning and enjoying the passion that must exist when working with
dogs.
In December 2014, she put a CGC title on her
personal dog, and became a CGC Evaluator for the American Kennel Club. Dana commits
her time to learning as much as she can, both in working with the very
experienced, and friendly instructors at Tails-U-Win Canine Center, the
amazing mentor-ship of well-known
and nationally recognized positive
reinforcement trainer (and owner of Tails), Leslie Nelson, as well as attending seminars and workshops to further her education. She is working toward her CCPDT certification, fosters in her spare time. She has a passion for working with puppies and is also the Day Program Director.
Her
dogs, featured on this page, are Kiss, a vibrant, and
challenging, Border Collie/Siberian Husky mixed breed, and Tell, an English Shepherd. Dana and Kiss
have ventured into Barn Hunt, Lure Coursing, will be competing in Agility, and various other sports. Telly has begun competing in CDSP, Barn Hunt, USCSS (nose work), and Dock Diving.
Recently, in March 2018, Dana earned her Pro Dog Trainer certification through AbsoluteDogs. Email Dana.
